After the devastating fire in 1681, the fortress was built in order to defend Trondheim. We continue on to our final stop, Nidaros Cathedral (Nidarosdomen). The cathedral was built in the 11th century. Additional work and renovations have continued since then. It is one of Scandinavia’s most stunning and grandiose cathedrals as well as the best well-preserved Gothic building in Northern Europe. Trondheim and Norway as a whole are very proud of this magnificent building.

Solsiden means "the sunny side" of Trondheim and is a charming and vibrant district.
Stiftsgården is the royal residence of Trondheim when the royal family is visiting the city.
You can enjoy a spectacular view over the city from this viewpoint, which the locals call "Sverresli", in the Byåsen area.
Take a stroll around the 17th century fortress, originally built to defend the city. Enjoy a beautiful sight on the river Nid and the city center.
Nidaros Cathedral is Scandinavia’s most stunning and magnificent cathedral as well as the best well-preserved Gothic building in Northern Europe.
On the way to the port we will pass by the famous red old town bridge, known as the "Portal of Happiness".
